What is SpringRole?
SpringRole is a decentralized attestation based professional network platform powered by the blockchain. SpringRole is the platform where people can view, share and get attestations on their professional profile, thereby creating a verified resume that they can share and use. A user’s educational qualifications and work experience are verified by the organizations themselves and written directly to the blockchain. To assess a user’s skill set, SpringRole has a system of weighted endorsements that let users objectively look at people’s profiles and assess their skill level.
What is the need for SpringRole?
To answer that, let’s take a look at the problems that we are tackling:
Currently, professional profiles are unverified and can have fake or falsified information. (one study indicates that 53% of the resumes contain some degree of inaccuracy)
Endorsements have become meaningless in a professional network - SpringRole wants to use weighted endorsements as a way to objectively evaluate profiles.
Verifications are time consuming, manpower intensive and have to be redone on each request.
Users of a network, who add all the value and generate content, are not rewarded or incentivized to use the platform.
How does SpringRole tackle the problems mentioned above?
SpringRole empowers users in three key ways:
- They control and own their data - they decide on who gets access to their personal data.
- Users can create their verified professional profiles that help promote trust and genuineness.
- Users get paid for engagement on the platform for actions like messaging and endorsements.

Can you explain the process of creating a profile on SpringRole? How does it work?
When you sign up on SpringRole, you import or add your profile to the platform. This generally includes your work experience, educational experience and your skill sets. Each of these claims once listed on the platform are verified by the concerned people or organizations.
For work experience and educational qualifications, the universities and companies concerned verify details and attest the claim with the protocol on the blockchain. This is a one time verification and can be used whenever needed.
On SpringRole, your skill reputation is crowdsourced and depends on the people who endorse you on your skill sets. Skill endorsements are weighted according to the skill level of the person endorsing you and endorsements need to be accepted by the sender and the receiver before it counts.
Whenever people in your network earn rewards on SpringRole, you also gain a percentage of it along with the other users and organizations who have attested for that person.
What is the difference between Linkedin and Springrole?
Springrole will have all the functionality of current professional networking websites such as deleting your profile if needed. One major difference between SpringRole and LinkedIn is that currently these sites sell data and sell adverts, meaning that only the website gains from people using it. Project Spring Foundation is building the Spring network from the ground up, while considering all stakeholders. SpringRole revolutionizes its industry by incentivizing endorsements powered by blockchain technology. A person needs to pay in tokens if they want to make an endorsement, which in turn makes people more selective in this process.
What is the difference between the likes of Fiverr and Springrole?
I'm glad you asked about Fiverr because the SpringRole network will also look to combine freelance work too, companies can post freelance projects on the job board on the Spring network with a reward in SPRING tokens. Job seekers can seek for such opportunities and sign a smart contract with the company. Once the project is completed or the terms of the contract are met, the parties can exchange the work done for the respective reward. Thus using the combination of smart contracts and the reputation system in the Spring network, it is possible to have transparent and decentralized freelancing opportunities powered on the blockchain.
Do you see that your platform has the prospect of breaking into the international job market where lot of workers often get scammed and pretty much mitigate the issue?
Of course, scamming is something that is hard to beat for a full 100%, but we believe that with its ecosystem running on the blockchain, SpringRole makes scammers think twice about their actions to be. We have many fraud prevention measures included in the network. Including a reputation system that allows users to rate each other in online communities in order to build trust. This is unlike anything else in current professional networking solutions.
What is the Product roadmap and timeline?

Let’s talk about the SPRING token. What is the purpose of the token?
The token acts as an incentivization model for the users to be on the platform and every key action on the platform is linked to tokens. The tokens get used when a user has to endorse someone else. The tokens are also rewarded to users for participation in the network for things like messaging, job referrals etc.
Could you replace the springrole token with ETH and get the same results? Why do you need a unique token? (besides fund raising)
Would people spend dollars or even eth directly to endorse others? Maybe in the corporate or university setting where the endorsee can cover the cost or it is part of the hiring cost. But for peer-to-peer endorsements, it might be harder (unless thought of as a bet on the person). Could be hard for psychological reasons. Additionally, while there can be a payoff there is no expectation that spending dollars or bitcoin would increase the value of the unspent bitcoin they hold. Arguably though spending SPRING to endorse increases the value of the unspent SPRING, creating a discount (possibly above 100%). It is also technically easier, requiring no exchange step if a SPRING balance is held.
Who are your competitors? How do you stand out from your competitors?
It's a competitive space out there (Indorse, dock.io, profede etc), but we have a live product with real revenue and customer testimonials. We started in 2014 and have been in this space since then. Each of the competitors attacks the problems in a very narrow slice without tackling the problem as a whole. To build the professional network of the future, every facet of the ecosystem needs to be taken care of. The other platforms focus highly on jobs and hiring whereas SpringRole focuses on the users and having a genuine and verified professional profile which allows them to showcase their skills and build connections in a trust based manner.
Indorse does not have a robust system to address the problem of knowing how skilled someone is. Profede is just adding blockchain to a solution while doing things that are very similar to Linkedin.

You have a partnership with Civic. What exactly is it?
Civic has us featured on their partnership. We are one of the first ones to have a live product integrated with them. We use them for identity.
Same way for bloom, except bloom uses our protocol for credit rating.
You claim to already have revenue with your other projects. Is there any proof of these clients?
Yes please see here: https://angel.co/springrole/activity#comment
Can you talk a bit about the "Skill Project"? How does that fit into SpringRole's model?
It is the world's largest open source skills taxonomy crucial to understanding how each skill is related like is "solidity" related to programming.

Do check them out and share your questions if you have any doubt. I personally think the team is good. If the team can execute the project as mentioned, Springrole can become a one of the most player from their industry.
Do not take this as an investment advice.
